Illest Rapper That You Never Heard 5: Pharoahe Monch

Pharoahe Monch is a popular artist amongst hipsters and big time hip hop heads, but because of his own choosing, he is not known throughout the mainstream. The Queens rapper started out as a member of "Organized Confusion", before branching out and releasing two classic albums. Pharoahe is known for his complex rhyming style, so the casual hip hop listener will have a hard time following his lyrics. He is also known for putting himself into different characters and rhyme from completely different perspectives. There are songs in which Pharoahe raps from the perspective of a white supremacist, a blue collar worker, and even a gun. His first album "Internal Affairs" received 4.5 mics, and that at the time when the mic rating actually meant something. The follow up was "Desire", which is one of my favorite albums to date. His new album is stated to come out this September, but there is no word about it yet.

Here are my favorite tracks from his albums
